Saigon Skateboards "Rust" — Limited Fingerboard Deck Collection

In the vibrant fingerboarding scene of Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon Skateboards has launched a groundbreaking limited collection. These 34mm × 97mm decks, made from 5-ply Canadian Maple with steep kicks and deep concave, showcase a revolutionary rust-effect finish. Using innovative paint and chemical techniques, each deck achieves a realistic oxidized metal appearance while maintaining a completely smooth, glass-like playing surface.

The proprietary rust process layers acrylic-metal hybrid paints with reactive agents that simulate controlled oxidation. Applied in translucent veils, followed by heat, humidity, and chemical baths, each deck develops unique orange-brown speckling. Multiple sanding and UV-cured clear coats ensure durability and zero friction for optimal performance. The result is visually textured yet perfectly smooth — rust you can trust.

Graphic Options

  • Star — Radiating celestial star with dynamic lines, shifting from green-yellow to orange.
  • Maria — Detailed sacred iconography with radiant halo, glowing on golden-amber patina.
  • Alien Eggs — Textural egg forms with lightning accents, pooling patina in crevices.
  • Skull — A roaring skull in flames, evoking heavy metal energy against mottled rust.
  • Flowers — Intricate sunflowers and daisies, sun-drenched in warm speckles.

Each piece is handcrafted in Vietnam — no two are identical due to the reactive chemistry. The finish adds visual depth without affecting playability on ramps, rails, or flat ground. The smooth surface excels in grinds and flips, and the steep geometry translates real skate muscle memory to finger scale.

Limited runs sell quickly. These decks appeal to technical riders, collectors, and art enthusiasts alike. The rust innovation — patent-pending — marks a leap in miniature board finishing, bridging art, engineering, and skate passion from Saigon to the world.
