# Handmade Authenticity & Workshop

Every Saigon Skateboards deck starts as raw wood and leaves our workshop as a finished, one-of-a-kind piece. This page explains exactly how — and how you can verify yours is genuine.

## Our Workshop

All decks are designed, pressed, shaped, and finished by hand in our Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) workshop. We do not outsource production. Every stage — from gluing plies to final sanding — is done in-house by our own craftspeople.

## Materials

-   **Canadian Maple** — Our primary wood. Sourced for its tight grain, consistent density, and pop. We use a 5-ply construction for the ideal balance of stiffness and flex.
-   **Burl Wood** — Selected limited runs feature burl wood veneers for unique, unrepeatable grain patterns. No two burl decks are identical.

## Construction

1.  Veneers are cut and stacked to spec.
2.  Glue is applied and plies are cold-pressed in custom molds.
3.  Decks are CNC-profiled then hand-shaped and trimmed.
4.  Each deck is sanded through multiple grits and hand-finished.
5.  Graphics (if any) are applied, sealed, and inspected before shipping.

Because every step involves human hands, minor variations in grain, weight, and feel are a feature — not a defect. They confirm your deck is genuinely handmade.

## NFC Authenticity

Select premium and limited decks include an embedded NFC chip. To verify:

1.  Open the NFC reader on your phone (or any NFC-enabled app).
2.  Tap the chip location marked on the deck or packaging.
3.  The chip links to a unique Saigon Skateboards verification page confirming the deck's series, production details, and authenticity status.

If a deck is listed as NFC-verified and the chip does not scan or the link does not resolve to our domain (**saigonskateboards.com**), do not accept it as genuine — contact us immediately.

## Limited Pieces

Many of our runs are deliberately small. Limited decks will note their edition size on the product page. Once a run sells out, it is not restocked. This keeps each piece genuinely rare and ensures our team can maintain quality at every step.

## Refunds & Authenticity Disputes
